2. Data We Collect
Calculator Usage
All calculations on EconKit are performed entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. No calculator inputs, outputs, or usage data are sent to our servers or stored anywhere. Your calculator data never leaves your device.
Contact Form
When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, subject, and message. This data is processed solely for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how our site is used in aggregate. Vercel Analytics is cookieless and privacy-respecting. It does not track individual users, does not use cookies, and does not collect personally identifiable information. Only aggregated, anonymous metrics (such as page views, referrer data, and device type) are collected.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in understanding site usage to improve our services. You may object to this processing at any time by contacting us.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
EconKit does not use cookies for core functionality. We use the following storage mechanisms:

This is a strictly necessary storage item that remembers whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies. - Calculator URL parameters — calculator inputs may be reflected in URL query parameters to allow sharing results via link. These are not stored on our servers or in your browser’s local storage.
We do not currently set any non-essential cookies. Should we introduce advertising or additional third-party services in the future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

5. Data Retention
Contact form submissions: Data submitted through our contact form (name, email, subject, message) is retained for as long as necessary to handle your inquiry and any resulting business correspondence. We delete this data when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, unless we are required by law to retain it longer.
Analytics: Vercel Analytics data is aggregated and does not contain personally identifiable information. Aggregated analytics data is retained in accordance with Vercel’s data retention policies.

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Some of our data processors are located in the United States. EconKit is not intended for use by children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 16, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
